South Thailand!

After a long journey from Japan and a layover in Bangkok, I made it to Krabi - the first stop on this trip back with the Swede. The accommodation had great views of the mountains and the beach, which was a perfect way to settle in. Bill had just finished a Muay Thai camp, and on my first night we went to a local fight. I didn’t totally follow what was going on, but it was so fun to watch! The rest of our time there was spent eating good food, catching up, and swimming - either in the pool or the sea.

Next, we headed to Koh Tao, where I’m staying again now. The resort was right on the beach with a balcony overlooking the water - super peaceful. We took a snorkelling tour around the island, stopping at a few different spots. We saw loads of fish, coral, and even a turtle (although it was a very crowded around it, which felt kind of bad). The day included a short hike to a viewpoint and a relaxed lunch on the boat. Lovely stuff!

Koh Phangan came next. We stayed in a small bungalow with a lot of hippies as neighbours — nice but slightly odd decor haha. The days were spent with lots of time on the beach, eating, and reading or just sitting around on the patio. A very consistent theme for the trip.

Our last stop was Koh Samui. We went out for hotpot the first night, which was good, but unfortunately, Bill got food poisoning and was out of action for a couple of days. Not ideal for our final days together, but I was glad I could be there while he recovered. He felt better on the last day, so we went out for a nice dinner - probably ordered too much, but it was worth it. We also visited a capybara rescue centre, which was so cute!

Now Bill’s back in Sweden, and I’m back in Koh Tao, starting my open water dive course. So far, I’m absolutely loving it!

Hope everyone at home is doing well!! Lots of love xoxo

Another lovely blog Maddy. So lovely to read all about your adventures, although the few days with a poorly Bill probably weren’t your favourite. Glad you were there to nursemaid him back to health. Enjoy the next couple of weeks and then we’ll be with you ❤️❤️
